The Green Key award complies with a strict set of criteria that include environmental management, environmental awareness raising and social responsibility. Green Key’s criteria for hotels and hostels are recognized by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC)
Our hotel facade is covered with Coteterm, sustainable and environmentally friendly constructive solution that minimizes the energy losses of buildings. It allows to insulate the facade from the outside, providing the building with a good thermal performance! Its high insulating capacity also allows for significant energy savings. It complies with Spanish and European health, safety and welfare regulations. On the other hand, we use led lighting throughought the building saving a big amount of energy per year. Our corridors are equipped with presence detectors and the air-conditioning stops working when the windows are open.
Our air conditioning and heating system is powered by a state-of-the art Inverter VRV machine that provides a recovery system that allows us to hot water for the showers. Our toilets have a dual cistern system and we have installed water saving taps in all the rooms. We use water detection Smart system to detect any water overflow.
We encourage our guests and staff to be mindful of consumption, and to recycle all types of waste, including paper, glass, organic and plastic. We avoid buying individual packaged products and we buy in bulk to minimize the impact of transporting goods. Finally, we refill the large soap dispensers with ecolabel certified soap to avoid all those small, disposable, plastic bottles.
From our yogurts, eggs and juices to the milk, jams and vegetables, we source a large selection of organic, local products in our breakfast buffet with a minimal environmental impact. We use recycled paper in all of our departments, from the toilet paper in the bathrooms to the napkins at breakfast and the invoices at reception.
